NIghtwalk is THE event of the underground fashion scene calendar. A bi-annual Independent Fashion Showcase, that fuses fantastic fashion with electronic music, art, photography and performance, and all for a good cause.
Nightwalk is a flourishing community, populated by creatives and brought to you in the form of an event. Providing a unique and contemporary platform for designers, DJ's, visual artists, photographers, models and performance artists to showcase their work & talent. While supporting our chosen local charity: St. Margaret's Hospice.
Their mission? To take the underground over ground by promoting local talents within the fashion, music, art and photography industries of Scotland. To make bespoke, handmade and high fashion accessible to a wider audience and clientele. To be the biggest, boldest and most prestigious fashion event in the country. To bring fashion to the forefront of the creative economy in Scotland. And do you know what? That's what creativity is all about; pushing boundaries, inspiring independence, and exploring experience.
The Arches in Glasgow famous for showcasing music, fashion and the arts and they are going to ensure that this Good Friday, 22nd April, goes with a bang. Some of the most talented scottish designers will be migrating to the Arches to astound us with their catwalk creations including Beretk!Ah, Betty Spoke, Fair Feathered Friend, GSA Capsule Collections, HandMadeInPartick, Hilary Laing, Jennie Lööf, Katerina Lambrou, Lilly Wiggler, MeeMee Couture, Obscure Couture, Oui! Designs, ten30 and William Chambers Millinery.
If that isn’t enough entertainment will be provided in the shape of Cat Aclysmic: “The ultimate Southern Belle gone bad. This tattooed terror from the depths of Dixie blends British wit and American burlesque with fire and dance to create larger than life characters and sex-charged satire. Unforgettable, original, and deeply entertaining Cat Aclysmic is truly the hottest thing from the North to come out of the South”.
DJ’s Ursula and Mustang Sally will ensure that the Glasgow stylista’s and fashionista’s will be rocking their heels til the wee small hours!
Tickets for NIGHTWALK SS2011 are £15 (plus booking fee) from www.thearches.co.uk and include a voucher for £15 OFF @ SASSOON SALON in Princes Square!
