Lions of Bath Roar Goodbye

This weekend sees the Lions of Bath on display for the last time at a family event in front of the Royal Crescent tomorrow and Sunday. The 106 sculptures are up for auction on October 15 and 17, although bidding has already started online, with interest from as far afield as California.

This weekend's family event includes live African-themed music and entertainment, including a visit from Roger Wright, star of the West End production, the Lion King. There will also be mini-lion decorating classes, cookery demonstrations, lion sponsors' stalls and food and drink.  Will Travers, from the Born Free Foundation conservation charity set up by his actor parents Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, will also be there.

Tickets on the gate are £5.00 for adults and free for under 16s.

Lion Auctions:

October 15:  at the Assembly Rooms, starting at 6.30pm.
