Internet Week Europe 2011

Following a successful launch last year, Internet Week Europe 2011 is set to be even bigger and better. Poised to reach an even larger audience, Internet Week events will be taking place in abundance throughout the week.

As one of just two London venue partners, Central, the new collaborative workspace just off Tottenham Court Road, will be playing host to a variety of entrepreneurial speakers who will be discussing all things digital.

What’s more, tickets to all Central Internet Week events include a whole day’s access to Central...for free! Event attendees are invited to use Central facilities for an entire day at any point throughout Internet Week.

Digital Business - ‘why the time is now’ with David Soskin

On Wednesday 9th November, Central will be welcoming David Soskin, author of the best-selling: "Net Profit: How to Succeed in Digital Business".

As the former CEO of Cheapflights Media, which he grew from an attic-based operation into an award-winning international leader in online travel search, David has been included in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track of the UK’s 100 fastest-growing privately owned technology companies for 7 years in a row. Cheapflights Media was ranked 11th in last year's Sunday Times PwC Profit Track.

David remains a Director of Cheapflights and sits on several other boards including mySupermarket.co.uk

As part of Internet Week Europe 2011, David will be discussing why he believes now is the time to launch a digital business. A recent BCG report showed that the Internet contributed an estimated £100 billion to the UK economy. The Internet economy is likely to grow at 10% a year. David will show that there has never been a better time to start a digital business. His talk will demonstrate some practical do's and don'ts based on his eight year experience as CEO of Cheapflights Media, one of the UK's most successful and enduring dot coms.

The Future is Social Commerce with Warren Knight

On Thursday 10th November, Central will be welcoming their second guest speaker, Warren Knight. With nearly 20 years experience in retail and 5 in social media, Warren has spent the last 4 years helping SMEs use social media marketing for a profit.

He is also the co-founder of Gloople the UK's 1st "Social Sharing" e-commerce platform. Social commerce is about helping people buy where they connect and connect where they buy. With 67% of online shoppers spending more from recommendations, Warren will share the latest statistics, case studies, strategies and tools for SME and start-up businesses to engage with their online consumers and offer them a big brand experience.
