In Ink - Dunmow Gallery

‘In Ink’ is a new exhibition at The Dunmow Gallery, Great Dunmow featuring the work of a group of printmakers called Inkus.

Inkus are a group of artist printmakers from Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, who meet regularly to print together, and who show their work both collectively and individually. Liz Burnett, Carmel Campbell, Louise Hayward, Linda Heywood, Philip Schofield, Anne Struebel and Tony White bring together various artistic, academic and life interests, stimulating each other to produce works that are rich in content and style. A wide range of printmaking techniques are employed, including drypoint, linocut, woodcut, monoprinting, collagraphy, screen-printing, lithography and etching, to produce either unique prints or editions. As well as traditional methods, some use is made of developments such as photo-sensitive materials and digital image-making. The Inkus artists also make specialist papers and produce artists' books.

The exhibition of framed and unframed work, as well as cards, hand-made books and other gift items will run from January 10th to January 29th 2011. The Dunmow Gallery, High Street, Great Dunmow is open from 10am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
