Illustration NE 2011 Exhibition

North East based graphic designer Laura Cartwright will be promoting the region's best creative talent at the ‘Illustration NE 2011 Exhibition’, in August.

Laura runs the project each year to help raise much needed funds for local art projects - which don’t receive government funding - and to showcase the diverse range of creativity that the North East has to offer.

She said, “The exhibition is based around illustration, being an illustrator and graphic artist myself I find there are no exhibitions or galleries which celebrate the medium and its diversity. The exhibition showcases both traditional and digital illustration in all mediums, and styles, from the best illustrators throughout the region.”

The exhibition launches on Monday 1st August, from 10am to 4pm. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and buy original jewellery, t-shirts and much more at the Pop Up Art Shop.

From 2nd -25th August, pieces by some of the most exciting and talented illustrators in the region will be up for grabs for £10 -£50, with a percentage of the sales going towards funding other art projects within the area.

The exhibition will be held at the Sanctuary Art Space in Gateshead. For more information visit the ‘Illustration NE 2011 Exhibition’ Facebook page.
