'Dean's Dad's Ducks' -The fantastic journey of 30,000 plastic ducks

Fresh from Latitude and on route to Edinburgh - Dean Parkin performs at the danceeats! cafe this Friday 'Dean's Dad's Ducks' -The fantastic journey of 30,000 plastic ducks and the double life of the man who made them Friday 23 July, at the danceeats! café

30,000 plastic ducks sank in the North Pacific in 1992 after their cargo ship was bombed by a US fighter jet. 'Dean's Dad's Ducks' is the tale of their voyage, the double life of the man who made them and thirty years of secrets and lies. Stories, poems and songs about bubble-wrap, swan machines and lemon trees on trains. Funny, bittersweet journeys with a dodgy Dad and his flotilla of plucky ducks. Dean Parkin is the regular host of Short Cuts Cabaret & Open Mic Night and poet in residence on BBC Radio Norfolk's Afternoon Show. Don't miss this sneak preview of his new one-man show - developed through the Escalator Live Literature scheme - which he'll be taking to Edinburgh this summer for his Festival Fringe debut. www.deanparkin.co.uk
