Photography: Room 101 are some art and photography workshops set to take place at tactileBOSCH in Cardiff this March and April. The separate classes will be staged by teacher Kim Fielding and last for two hours a week for 10 weeks.
The cost is £150 and the times are 7pm - 9pm / Tues 25th January - Tues 29th March 2011. Or if you'd prefer daytime classes - 1pm - 3pm / Sat 29th January - Sat 2nd April 2011.
Individual workshops are available for two hour sessions at £16 per session Tuesdays and Saturdays at the tactileBOSCH Studio / Andrews Rd / Llandaff N. / Cardiff / CF14 2JP.
The course will develop basic camera skills, expand notions of creative image making and push camera usage into the exciting arena of fine art photography. Students will use digital and analogue media work in a professional photography studio using live models in a unique setting. The studio is located in an atmospheric Victorian Laundry offering natural light as well as dark spaces for the more abstract techniques. The studio is situated next to Haley Park and the Taff allowing easy access to ‘natural’ landscapes and the opportunity to use natural light and take exterior shots.
During the course the following with be looked at:
- Alternative ways to photograph people / places + objects in studio + on location
- Use a variety of professional equipment including lenses and lighting
- Use a variety of innovative lighting techniques: Multiple exposures / Painting with Light
- Use a variety of camera techniques including time lapse + ‘selective’ focus
- Stage photo-shoots with live models / capturing Live Performance Art
- Direct a photo-shoot and develop storylines using studio assistants
- Discuss printing techniques, enlargements and ways of displaying work
