An evening of video works by Frances Stark

But what of Frances Stark, standing by itself, a naked name, bare as a ghost to whom one would like to lend a sheet

Tonight at the CCA there will be a screening of the projected power-point work Structures That Fit My Opening and Other Parts Considered in Relation to Their Whole, (23min, 2006) by Frances Stark. Biginning at 7pm, viewers can experience Stark's sensitivity to the exigencies of her position as a contemporary woman artist and writer.

The project is a dry boardroom format enlivened by intermittent bursts of sound, colour photographs of her home, and images of her art, the work is a moving, personal rumination on "what kind of 'liberation' I - as a woman, artist, teacher, mother, ex-wife - am really after."

Stark's Cat Videos (35min, 1999-2002) will also be shown and entrance is free.
