As an artist myself I have spent many long hours wandering round museums drawing from exhibits and collecting ideas. I especially love natural history for all the colours and textures and information on the collections themselves.
Currently on at the Museum of Zoology is an exhibition featuring the work and collections of A R Wallace who was the first to introduce the notion of natural selection which prompted Charles Darwin to publish his own theory. Wallace is generally forgotten now but at the time was just as prolific as Darwin in his own time. This exhibition is 'part of a Wellcome Trust funded project to research and promote the contributions of Alfred Russel Wallace to the theories of Natural Selection and Evolution'. For more details visit the website http://www.museum.zoo.cam.ac.uk/events/. I will definately be making visit!
