Music meets the grow-your-own generation in a garden orchestra like no other.   Guaranteeing a fresh look at your kitchen and your record collection, Vienna Vegetable Orchestra have now been cooking up a storm for over a decade. A unique collective of musicians, visual artists, architects, designers, media artists and writers, the orchestra play an eclectic mix of Free Jazz, contemporary music, beat-oriented House tracks, experimental Electronic, and Dub – all exploiting the unique sonic properties of their instruments,  hand-crafted for each performance from seasonal fresh vegetables.   Their performances have developed a cult following, and are distinguished by the flair and imagination of the performers, as well as an astonishingly inventive use of the natural materials at their disposal. Containing elements of performance art, improvisation, new music and sophisticated electronic diffusion, their gigs are a feast for all the senses. As an encore? Surplus vegetables are cooked into a delicious soup and served by the musicians.    Saturday 25 September 12 noon, 1pm Vienna Vegetable Orchestra
