Call for Entries! Lightworks 2012
Lightworks is a one-night festival of film, sound and new media that takes place in Grimsby Minster in Lincolnshire every year. The aim of Lightworks is to find new audiences for contemporary art and to provide a platform for artists working in new media.
The organisers are now putting together their third event after successful Lightworks festivals in 2010 and 2011, where they attracted large and diverse audiences. Lightworks 2012 will take place on Friday March 16 2012.
This will be the first year Lightworks has been able to offer paid commissions thanks to the support of Arts Council England and the local council.
There are two opportunities as follows:
1) Open submission for existing video and sound work
2) Three commissions for new work in animation (£500), sound (£500) and
long form video (£1000)
There are no recommended themes, subjects, formats or treatments. There is no entry fee for either Open Submission or Commission opportunities. Work will be shown inside, outside and around Grimsby Minster as well as in other venues in Grimsby.
