Beth Tweddle and Louis Smith compete in Leicester

The Percussion Plus - English Gymnastics Championships are being held held at New College Leicester, Glenfield Road, Leicester, LE3 6RN  until the 7th March 2010.

The Championships are regarded as a most prestigious event for England gymnasts and their coaches and are also used as the major selection competitions for the England Women's Home Country National Squads.

This year, the English Championships will the first of a number of selection events for gymnasts wishing to be considered for the GB Team at the World Championships in Rotterdam and also the England Gymnastics Team to represent England in Delhi at the Commonwealth Games, 2010.

The programme of events for today and tomorrow will be: - Men's/ Women's Senior Championships  Saturday 6th March, 2010  @ 11-30am  (16+) Men's/ Women's Junior Championships Sunday 7th March, 2010 @ 10-00am. (14-15 yrs)

This event is being used to help select the teams for GB and England - and it's in Leicester!

Beth Tweddle the Current World Gymnastics Champion on Floor will be taking part as will Louis Smith (pictured above) who won an Olympic Bronze medal in 2009 on Pommel.
