A recent graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone with 1st Class Honours in Jewellery & Metal Design, my degree show collection Vanity Series 2010 examined the rigmarole of women's daily beauty routines.

Inspired by the quote "The only cure for vanity is laughter, and the only fault that is laughable is vanity." Henri Bergson, my aim was to inspire women to see the humorous aspects of the process of applying and removing make-up.

Using sterling silver, freshwater pearls, vintage finds and textiles, my work in general strives to go against the grain of conventional jewellery and my collections are mainly concept-driven. Usually delicate, with a mix of contemporary design and vintage details, my work is intrinsically feminine.

Having being interested in the sentiments of jewellery from a young age, designing and making my own came naturally. Now, creating from my workshop at home in Inverness, I am working on an exhibition and gallery collection basis as well as undertaking personal commissions.
