Metamorphosis at Bath cultural institution

small invite front

Local contemporary art group For Now is to stage the first exhibition in a new-style gallery at one of the great cultural institutions in Bath – The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI) in Queen Square.

BRLSI was originally founded for the advancement of Literature, Science and Art in the City of Bath.   Now the institution is looking for edgy, challenging contemporary artists to widen its appeal amongst younger audiences, forge deeper links between artists and scientists, and bring fresh beauty into the building.

For Now’s exhibition is called ‘Metamorphis’, and will feature work by ten artists from in and around Bath. The exhibition will run from 3rd to 25th March, picking up on BRLSI’s current theme of Romans.

There will be two previews, on the 3rd and on the 16th March, as the show will be changed completely halfway through.  Dr David Lewis-Baker will be giving a short talk about the exhibition in the context of contemporary art practice at both previews.
